The town of Round Hill began to thrive in 1875, when the Washington and Old Dominion railroad arrived, and it was officially incorporated in 1900. Round Hill was given its name because of the round hill located two miles southwest of town.

Round Hill's location as Loudoun's westernmost town and the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and nearby Appalachian Trail offers spectacular scenery and plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation.

The Chile Man produces all-natural marinades, barbeque sauces, mustards, and salsas made from ingredients he grows on a farm near Round Hill. Hill High Orchard offers some of the best pies on the east coast, a fishing pond, and a picnic area. And, the Round Hill Center offers art classes and is a venue for the performing arts.
