Town of Hillsboro
Hillsboro was established as a mill town by Quaker families from Pennsylvania. By 1831 Hillsboro had a lumber mill, two flour mills, and a woolen mill. Hillsboro is Loudoun's smallest town, both in land area as well as population, and it has retained its historic character and considerable charm. The newest building in the town was constructed in 1893! Several small shops are located in the town and there are two wineries and several farms that sell to the public nearby.
